Their roots are in the Bay Area, California, where in 2017, founder Sukmin, then an industrial design student in San Francisco, found an unexpected spark for our first project: the Bison Rolling Grill, inspired by a sushi mat.

After graduating with his MFA from the Academy of Art University, Sukmin and the Bison design team refined this concept, successfully bringing it to life via Kickstarter. From that innovative beginning, Bison Gears has continued to create unique, authentic, and purposeful outdoor gear for every adventure.
